Larger framed posters of Dominique Appia are not currently offered

Most retail editions cap near 70x100 cm, so a bigger framed poster usually means a different retailer, a custom print, or a canvas alternative. The real constraint is the source file, not the frame.

The short answer

A framed poster of Dominique Appia in a size larger than 70x100 cm is not widely available as a standard retail item. Most catalogues stop at that range because the source file and the print house limit the enlargement. If you need a larger custom art print size option, the practical route is a custom print from a high-resolution file, or a canvas edition that tolerates a bigger scale more gracefully.

Why the size ceiling exists

Print size is not a frame decision. It is a file decision. A poster larger than 70x100 cm asks the source image to carry more detail than it was made to hold. At that scale, softness and banding show up first in the flat areas, which is where Appia's work tends to live.

Retailers set a ceiling because the risk rises with every centimetre. A 100x140 cm poster is not simply a bigger version of a 70x100 cm poster. It is a different object with a different tolerance for the original file. That is the part most listings leave out.

What a larger size actually requires

If you want a Dominique Appia larger framed poster beyond the standard range, you are usually asking for a custom run rather than a shelf item. That means a file with enough resolution, a printer willing to run a single copy, and a frame built to a non-standard size.

The frame is the easy part. The file is the hard part. A custom art print size option only works if the source can hold the enlargement without collapsing into blur. If the file is modest, a smaller poster often looks better than a forced larger one.

What to check first

Ask whether the source file is high enough resolution for the size you want.
Confirm the print house can run a single custom copy at that dimension.
Decide whether a canvas edition would tolerate the larger scale more gracefully.
Measure the wall space before you settle on a size that may not exist ready-made.

When a different format solves the problem

A larger size often pushes the decision away from a framed poster and toward a canvas, because canvas handles a bigger scale with less visible strain on the image. That is not a promotion of one over the other. It is a question of which surface hides the file's limits better.

If the wall space is fixed and the poster size you want is not on the shelf, the question becomes whether the image can be enlarged at all. Sometimes the honest answer is to choose a smaller poster and let the wall breathe around it.

A bigger poster is not a bigger file. The frame follows the image, not the other way around.

Key takeaways

Standard framed posters of Dominique Appia rarely exceed 70x100 cm because the source file sets the limit.
A larger size is usually a custom order, not a ready-made shelf item.
Canvas often tolerates a bigger scale better than a framed poster at the same enlargement.
Measure the wall before asking for a size the file cannot support.

Related questions

Can I order a framed poster of Dominique Appia in a size that is not listed?

Only if the seller offers custom printing and the source file can support the enlargement. A custom art print size option is not the same as a standard poster, and it usually costs more because it is a single run. Ask for the file resolution before you commit.

Is a canvas a better choice if I need a larger print?

Often yes, because canvas stretches the image across a surface that hides some of the softness that a larger poster would expose. It is not automatically better for every image, but it is the more forgiving route when the size you want is beyond the standard poster range.

What is the largest size I can expect as a standard framed poster?

Standard ranges vary by retailer, but 70x100 cm is a common upper end for framed posters in this kind of catalogue. Beyond that, you are usually moving into custom territory rather than picking from a fixed list of sizes.
