Woodland Path

Birches lean over a narrow track that winds into dense shade. Woodland Path by Nikolay Bogdanov-Belsky takes a simple walk beneath high summer leaves and reads it in broken light. Sunlight drops in small coins on the packed earth, and ferns thicken along the verges. Trunks rise in silvered greys scored with dark ridges, the brushwork patient and fine, while violet shadow pools where the branches close. Farther on, the path narrows to a pale ribbon and slips from sight. Quiet greens settle easily into a study or reading nook, beside bookshelves and lamplight, where the cool air of deep woods carries through the room.
