Winter road

Snow holds the road from verge to verge, and Rylov tracks it as it thins under runners and hoof. Winter road opens on that pale corridor, flanked by dark firs pressing in from both sides. The palette is all cold whites and blue shadow, with the sky a thin wash of pearl over the treeline. Brushwork stays loose and wet, snow built from scumbled layers that let undertones of violet and grey breathe through. The road itself carries the only warm note, a faint ochre in the trodden snow where sledges have passed. Cold-country light like this belongs in a north-facing study or a hallway that needs air, where the hush of the scene can carry across the room.
