Willows

Willows bend over dark water in a Pyotr Konchalovsky riverside scene, gnarled trunks twisted by decades of wind, silvery crowns spilling across the bank like uncombed hair. Oil sits thick on the surface, dragged in short stubby strokes so every leaf catches light on its own ridge. Moss green dominates, set against grey bark, ochre mud, and a strip of reflected sky breaking the current. Roots grip the bank. A shaded study or hallway suits it best; the greens deepen against plain plaster, warm oak furniture, and the low gold of evening lamplight.
