Wild Rowan

A rowan tree blazes against the sky, its berries clustered in dense red weight at every branch tip. Wild Rowan puts that fire at the center of the picture. Rylov paints the leaves in broken greens and olive, the trunk a rough grey-brown rising off-center, berries laid on thick so each cluster catches real light. Above, the sky cools to blue-grey cloud, and the contrast makes the red burn harder. The brushwork stays loose and quick, closer to sketch than finished landscape. Strong in a study or a reading nook where a window looks out on actual greenery.
