White Tulips

White tulips stand in a shallow cluster, petals held upright against a pale, almost luminous ground. Mackintosh reduces the flower to its essential geometry: cupped blooms, slender stems, leaves that curve like drawn lines. The palette is restrained to near-monochrome, soft greys and warm whites over a faintly green wash, the kind of tonal discipline the Glasgow Style demanded. Each petal edge reads with pencil-like precision, the blooms nodding slightly at different heights so the group feels alive rather than arranged. Shading is delicate, built from thin veils of tone rather than hard contour. Suited to a calm bedroom or a bright reading nook where quiet, disciplined florals belong.
