Vízparti Fák

Water first, then trees. Scheiber Hugó builds Vízparti Fák from the shoreline outward, a band of reflective water anchoring a row of trunks that leans and twists along the bank. The title alone names the whole scene: waterside trees. Look at how the foliage is handled. The canopy comes in blocks of sap green and deep viridian, broken by open sky where leaves thin out. Trunks rise in dark verticals, their reflections dragged downward into the water as loose, wavering strokes. Scheiber, a fixture of Hungarian modernism, lets geometry hum underneath the naturalism: rounded crowns, straight masts of wood, a flat horizontal plane of surface. Nothing is fussy. The composition holds because the shapes are so certain. Suited to a hallway or a calm reading corner, where the quiet green palette and water motif give a room a cool, settled center.
