Ornament frames the name: a bookish vignette Nicholas Roerich drew to introduce a volume devoted to himself, dense with the symbols he carried through a lifetime of work. Fine linework builds a small heraldry of his world. Scrolls and stylized motifs curl at the margins, inked in confident strokes, the lettering set like a carved inscription.
