Round towers step down a green slope to meet the current, crowning the bend where Europe faces Asia; Sevket Dag records it plainly in View of the Bosphorus and Rumeli Hisarı. Oil paint sits in quick loaded strokes. Cypress spires and whitewashed houses climb the near bank, a lone caique crosses water stirred from cobalt, viridian and milky grey, and far hills dissolve into haze. The fortress ramparts hold their ochre against all that blue. A bright study or stair hall suits it; cool water and sunlit stone read cleanly across from a window, above a desk or a low console.
