View of Moscow from The Vorobyovy Hills

Domes and bell towers gather along the horizon in View of Moscow from The Vorobyovy Hills, Konstantin Yuon surveying the old capital from its southern heights above the Moskva. Cobalt sky carries stacked cumulus; sunlight breaks across grey rooftops and ochre facades, picking out gilded onion domes against the haze. Below, the river bends in a pale ribbon, bridges crossing it, church walls and factory chimneys sharing one broad, breathing skyline. Built for a study lined with travel books or an entryway that greets guests with a city panorama, it suits rooms where a wide horizon sets the tone.
