Caucasian mountains climb behind a resort town in View of Kislovodsk. Anna Ostroumova-Lebedeva renders the valley in her signature woodcut language, every ridge built from disciplined strokes of black on pale paper. The composition stacks its contrasts: dark, hatched slopes pressing down on small white houses, sanatorium facades and scattered trees drawn in clean silhouette against the peaks. Look closely and the sky carries her hand-cut texture, faint grain where the burin left the block bare. Light and shadow do all the work here; color is absent, structure is everything. A study or hallway with plain walls and good daylight suits it best, where the linework can be read at close range.
