A stone village stacks itself up a Burgundian hillside in Veslez, Gustave Loiseau looking up from the lane below. Tiled roofs step down the slope in russet and grey, broken by garden walls and bare winter trees. Loiseau builds the whole scene out of small, directional touches, each roof plane and field edge given its own hatch of color. The light reads as late afternoon, cool at the edges with warmth pooled where the sun finds the stone. A study or hallway gains real depth from a view like this.
