Treatise on Measurement

Compasses, rulers, and geometric solids crowd the page in crisp black linework. Albrecht Durer composed this Treatise on Measurement as a working manual, every diagram annotated in his sharp German lettering. Circles bisected by chords, cones sliced into ellipses, a hand gripping a dividers over ruled paper: the illustrations carry the confident ink density of a woodcut, white space carved away so each form reads clean against the page. Perspective lines fan out toward a horizon point, the geometry of Renaissance draftsmanship laid bare. A drafting desk, architect studio, or library wall asks for exactly this kind of disciplined, diagrammatic beauty.
