Traction

A heavy draught horse leans into its collar, every tendon drawn tight against the load. Traction by Pyotr Konchalovsky turns ordinary hauling work into pure muscle and strain. Oil paint sits thick on the surface, laid in heavy slabs of raw umber, ochre, and smoke grey. Leather harness crosses the broad chest, rope bites at the shoulder, and churned ground below carries a sheen of wet mud. Hang it in a study or a farmhouse entryway, where those earthy browns sit well against dark wood and plain plaster.
