Tip of the Bay

Blue water reaches the top of the frame in Tip of the Bay, a seascape by Viennese painter Max Kurzweil where open sky and calm sea nearly merge into one pale band. The horizon sits high, leaving most of the surface to the bay itself. Thin horizontal strokes of slate, cobalt and grey-green suggest ripples moving toward a distant shore, while small dark marks along the waterline read as hulls or buoys. Brushwork stays loose and deliberate, more suggestion than detail, with the light held soft and even. A quiet coastal note for a bedroom, reading nook or hallway that leans toward calm rather than clutter.
