Tibet

Snowfields cut the skyline in clean white wedges, and a small whitewashed chorten anchors the dark foreground ridge in the Tibet of Nicholas Roerich. The sky climbs from deep lapis at the zenith to a pale banded horizon, and glacier faces carry long diagonal strokes of shadow. Pigment sits in thin matte veils, chalky where the snow catches light, while the near rocks read almost black against the brilliance. A high-ceilinged study or a quiet hallway suits it best, somewhere the cold blues can breathe beside plain plaster, linen, and dark wood shelves.
