Thor

A bearded thunder god fills the frame from edge to edge, arm raised as lightning crackles through the darkened sky behind him. Ciurlionis renders Thor as a force of weather itself. Heavy storm tones of charcoal, deep indigo and cold silver dominate. The god cloak merges into cloud, his features carved out by flashes that rake diagonally across the composition. Hard strokes suggest hammer blows of light against a brooding, electric atmosphere. Textural contrast between smooth sky and jagged bolt gives the surface real tension. A study or library wall suits this mood, especially beside dark wood and low lamplight where the lightning reads at dusk.
