The Village on The River

Log rooftops crowd the riverbank in Konstantin Yuon's The Village on The River, a landscape where timber huts lean toward the water and their reflections waver in the current. Yuon paints the scene in broad, confident brushwork: the village rendered in warm umber and mossy green, the river carrying bands of pale sky-blue between its banks. Small boats moor at rough piers, and the low sun washes distant treeline with a soft gold haze. Depth builds from the dark foreground water to bright horizon.
