The Signal

A single tapering shaft rises from its low base, slender as a held breath. The Signal, carved by Constantin Brâncuși, turns the idea of announcement into one silent vertical gesture. Polished stone takes the light along one long curve, honey pale near the base and cooling to bone at the tip. The point leans a fraction off axis, so the whole form reads as listening rather than declaiming. Below, a plain block keeps the shaft at eye height. Set it where a hallway narrows or a stair turns. It does its work in silence, asking only a stretch of bare plaster and good light.
