The March Wind

A woman leans into a hard March gust on a city street, her dark coat snapping, cheeks wind-scoured red, one gloved hand pinning her hat against the weather. Robert Henri turns an ordinary blustery walk into a study of resistance, paint laid on in broad, confident strokes of slate blue, charcoal, and bruised violet, with that flush of face color catching the cold light. The background stays loose and scumbled, so the figure seems pushed forward by the wind itself. American realism at its most direct, built from thick impasto and unflinching observation. Suited to a hallway, stair landing, or any wall that could use some forward motion.

A stretched canvas: the image is printed on a cotton-polyester weave (300–350 gsm) and wrapped over FSC-certified wood stretcher bars. A hanging kit is included, so no frame or extra hardware is needed.

Dust with a soft, dry cloth only — avoid water or cleaning products on the canvas face — and keep it out of direct sunlight and away from radiators.

As a guide, a piece hung above furniture should span roughly two-thirds of that furniture width. If you are between two sizes, the larger option almost always reads better on the wall than expected.

Every piece is made to order, then shipped free with tracking. US and Europe/UK orders typically arrive in 4–9 business days; Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore and the UAE in 7–16 business days. A tracking link is emailed as soon as it ships. Full details are on our shipping policy.

Orders within the US, UK and EU are domestic and do not incur customs fees. Orders to our extended network (Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, UAE) may be subject to import duties or VAT set by your local customs authority — these are not collected by us.
