The Lair of the Lynx

A boy climbs beyond reach into a snow-heavy spruce while a spotted hunter paces the drifts below. The Lair of the Lynx by Akseli Gallen-Kallela catches the standoff one heartbeat before it breaks. Broad, loaded strokes build the scene: blue-shadowed snow, trunks in raw umber, a fur-trimmed figure pressed against the dark of a Finnish winter wood. Thick slabs of white sit on every bough. Below, tufted ears and a dappled flank mark the wildcat, tail low, utterly patient. It belongs in a study or north-facing hallway, where the deep blues read at their coldest and the quiet drama rewards long looking.

A stretched canvas: the image is printed on a cotton-polyester weave (300–350 gsm) and wrapped over FSC-certified wood stretcher bars. A hanging kit is included, so no frame or extra hardware is needed.

Dust with a soft, dry cloth only — avoid water or cleaning products on the canvas face — and keep it out of direct sunlight and away from radiators.

As a guide, a piece hung above furniture should span roughly two-thirds of that furniture width. If you are between two sizes, the larger option almost always reads better on the wall than expected.

Every piece is made to order, then shipped free with tracking. US and Europe/UK orders typically arrive in 4–9 business days; Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore and the UAE in 7–16 business days. A tracking link is emailed as soon as it ships. Full details are on our shipping policy.

Orders within the US, UK and EU are domestic and do not incur customs fees. Orders to our extended network (Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, UAE) may be subject to import duties or VAT set by your local customs authority — these are not collected by us.

Because every piece is produced specifically for your order, we are unable to accept returns for a change of mind, wrong size selection, or buyer remorse once production has started.
