A curtain closes over the final page. The End, drawn by Konstantin Yuon for the Golden Fleece magazine, turns a single word of farewell into theatrical scenery, all arches, rope, and gathering dusk. Look at how the letterforms carry the weight: thick strokes in deep crimson and charcoal, set against a sky that cools from apricot near the horizon to bruised violet overhead. Garlands and tassels hang like stage rigging. Every contour reads as gouache on paper, brushed with the confidence of a designer who knew the press was waiting.
