The Gloucester Buckets

Two galvanized buckets catch the harbor light on a Gloucester dock, painted by Arthur Streeton with the crisp marine clarity that made his seascapes famous. Rope coils, wet timber, and fishing gear surround them, every surface handled in quick confident strokes. Cool greys and silvery blues dominate, warmed by hints of rust and sun-bleached wood along the wharf planks.
