Temple

A whitewashed Buddhist temple holds the foreground, flat roof and trapezoid window frames set against a rampart of Himalayan peaks. Roerich paints the sanctuary with the clean edges of dry tempera. Ochre and madder bands run beneath the parapet, the stripe every Ladakhi monastery wears. Prayer flags stitch small color into thin air. Behind the roofline the high ranges grade from cobalt to chalk white, each one painted flatter and paler as it recedes. In a quiet study or entryway it gives the eye somewhere to climb, a rectangle of thin mountain light above bookshelves and lamplight.

Frequently asked

Yes. It ships fully framed and assembled, with the hanging hardware already fitted to the back.

Wipe the front gently with a soft, dry cloth and keep it out of direct sunlight.

Pick the size that suits your wall and furniture. If you are unsure between two, the larger one usually looks better than expected.

Each piece is made to order and shipped free with tracking, usually within a couple of weeks depending on your location. See our shipping policy for details.

Usually not, but international orders can occasionally be subject to local import fees set by your country. Anything like that is set by customs, not by us.

As each piece is made to order, we do not accept change-of-mind returns. If it arrives damaged or faulty, email support@auvrique.com within 7 days and we will put it right. See our refund policy.
