Syksyisiä Haapoja

Slender aspen trunks climb through a haze of amber leaves in Syksyisiä Haapoja, Pekka Halonen distilling the short Finnish autumn into one stand of trees. The bark reads bone white and pale green against foliage stacked in chrome yellow and copper, each leaf laid down in quick loaded strokes of oil paint. Cool blue sky flickers between the crowns while the forest floor falls into violet shadow. A hallway or quiet reading nook is its natural home, the gold throwing warmth across pale walls and pairing easily with oak, linen and stone.
