Svolvaer Harbour at the Height of the Fishing Season. Study from Lofoten

Fishing boats crowd the water in Svolvaer harbour, masts and rigging crossing the frame in a dense lattice of lines. Anna Katarina Boberg recorded this Lofoten scene at the height of the fishing season, when the whole archipelago worked at once. Cold northern light sits on grey water and snow-dusted peaks behind the fleet. Boberg builds the boats in quick, wet strokes of slate blue, ochre and rust red, while the sky above carries pale lilac and steel grey broken by a low sun. Red stockfish racks and timber piers anchor the shoreline. A study, but one full of weather and labour. It suits a hallway, home office or stairwell with good natural light.

A stretched canvas: the image is printed on a cotton-polyester weave (300–350 gsm) and wrapped over FSC-certified wood stretcher bars. A hanging kit is included, so no frame or extra hardware is needed.

Dust with a soft, dry cloth only — avoid water or cleaning products on the canvas face — and keep it out of direct sunlight and away from radiators.

As a guide, a piece hung above furniture should span roughly two-thirds of that furniture width. If you are between two sizes, the larger option almost always reads better on the wall than expected.
