Suspended Bridge at Triel

A suspended bridge at Triel stretches its slender span across the Seine, cables dropping in shallow curves toward the far bank. Gustave Loiseau records the crossing in quick, flecked strokes. Crosshatched touches of cobalt and grey build the moving water, while the wooden deck and iron stays sit in ochre and umber. Poplars line the towpath, their foliage dabbed in broken green, and low houses hold the left bank under a soft, high sky. A home office or stairway landing suits it well, anywhere a view of moving water and open sky gives a working day some breathing room.
