Still Life. Pipe with Smoke

A briar pipe lies across the table edge, its bowl still warm, a ribbon of blue smoke twisting upward through the dark interior of this still life by Pyotr Konchalovsky. Thick umber and ochre strokes build the tabletop in loaded, directional passes, while the curl of grey dissolves into loose scumbling against a deep brown ground. Brushwork stays visible everywhere, each highlight on the bowl laid on wet over wet. Made for a study or a reading nook, where lamplight and leather chairs give the tobacco brown palette room to breathe at the end of the day.

Dust it gently with a soft, dry cloth and keep it out of direct sunlight.

Pick the size that suits your wall and furniture. If you are unsure between two, the larger one usually looks better than expected.

Usually not, but international orders can occasionally be subject to local import fees set by your country. Anything like that is set by customs, not by us.

As each piece is made to order, we do not accept change-of-mind returns. If it arrives damaged or faulty, email support@auvrique.com within 7 days and we will put it right. See our refund policy.
