Lilacs fill the picture edge to edge, violet and white clusters stacked so densely they tumble forward. Still Life. Lilacs by Pyotr Konchalovsky celebrates abundance itself. Oil paint sits thick on the surface, every petal built from loaded strokes of mauve, periwinkle and cream. A plain metal pail anchors the mass, serrated leaves in deep green cool the middle ground, and shadows sink toward blue beneath the rim.
