Fruit crowds a dark tabletop: apples with green shoulders, a heavy pear, plums wearing their pale bloom. Still Life. Fruits finds Pyotr Konchalovsky at his most generous. Thick oil paint loads each form, every stroke catching light like glaze on skin. Vermilion, ochre, and bottle green dominate against a deep umber ground, and the tilted plane tips the whole heap toward the viewer.
