Stamp 5 Cent

A five cent stamp design fills the frame, its numeral crowned and bordered like a small architectural facade. This little emblem of value comes from Leopoldo Metlicovitz, whose posters taught Italian advertising how to move. Look closely and the ink work does the talking: a large numeral drawn with ticket office clarity, flourishes curling around it, the value repeated in small type along the margins. The palette stays postal, deep inks against paper, the kind of graphic economy that made early twentieth century stamps and posters feel engineered rather than merely drawn. Hang it where small documents belong, a study wall above a desk, or a hallway near the door where letters once arrived.
