Springtime

Blossom opens across the canvas in Kimon Loghi's Springtime, branches lifting toward a sky washed pale blue and rose. The season arrives all at once, petals catching light before leaves have caught up. Look closely and the brushwork loosens into dabs of white, blush pink, and fresh green, the trunks dark and supple beneath.
