A small timber hut crouches among snow and pines in Nicholas Roerich Solveig Song (Hut in the Forest). The cabin seems to wait, window dark, for someone to come singing through the drifts. Blues dominate here, the cold blues of northern dusk layered over white drifts in broad tempera strokes.
