Bursts of light fan out across the sheet in a choreography of sparks. This sketch by Giacomo Balla translates Igor Stravinsky ballet Feu d artifice into pure visual percussion, where every streak of color behaves like sound. Concentric explosions radiate from hidden launch points, rendered in gouache strokes of vermilion, cobalt and zinc white.
