Sevan

The lake sits wide and pale grey beneath distant ridges in Sevan, a rendering by Panos Terlemezian of the Armenian highlands where water and sky meet in one cold breath. Loose, visible brushwork carries the surface: short strokes of cobalt and viridian over deeper ultramarine, pale ochre along the shoreline, violet shadow pooling at the base of the hills. Small fishing boats dot the middle distance, their hulls reduced to a few dark accents. A calm study or hallway takes it well, the broad horizontal composition settling above a console table or desk, cooling any room that runs warm.
