Santa-Fe

Santa-Fe spreads across a high desert plain, adobe rooftops massed low against an enormous southwestern sky. Nicholas Roerich renders the New Mexican town in his distinct visionary manner. Terracotta and ochre buildings sit in stacked blocks, their flat planes catching hard sunlight. Long blue-violet shadows fall between them, and distant mountains thin to a pale band beneath clouds pushed high by wind. A study or sunlit hallway pairs naturally with this desert palette, the warm earth tones settling calmly among timber, plaster, and stone.
