San Angelo

San Angelo climbs its ridge in stacked blocks of ochre and rose, rooftops pressed tight beneath a hard blue sky. Pyotr Konchalovsky builds the hill town stroke by stroke. Thick impasto catches light across sunbaked walls, each facade a slab of cream or salmon plaster, some shaded toward dusty violet. Cypress spires and a square campanile break the terracotta bands of tiled roofs, while broad shadows anchor the scene in southern heat. A sunlit study or hallway gains from that warm stone palette; the deep blues and burnt sienna sit well against plaster, walnut shelving, or plain linen.
