Saint Hripsime Church. Etchmiadzin

Saint Hripsime Church rises from dry grass at Etchmiadzin, its faceted dome sharp against a washed sky. Yeghishe Tadevosyan paints the Armenian shrine in low afternoon sun. Pink tufa blocks warm to apricot where light strikes the drum, while deep window recesses hold pools of violet shadow. Loose brushwork breaks the foreground into ochre stubble and thistle, a thin cypress line marking the churchyard edge. Set in an entryway or a quiet study, the scene carries the dry heat of the Ararat plain into rooms that want stillness and light.
