Snow buries the street of Røros in this Norwegian winter scene by Harald Sohlberg. Deep drifts crowd the lane between timber houses. Sohlberg paints the snow itself as the subject, its surface built from cool blues, pale violets and chalk whites laid in deliberate strokes.
