Rough Seas near Lobster Point

White water slams against a dark headland while gulls scatter above the churn. Rough Seas near Lobster Point by Robert Henri captures the Atlantic in full temper, spray and foam rendered in loaded, gestural brushwork. The palette runs cold and salted: slate green swells, bone-white crests, a bruised pewter sky pressing low over the horizon. Henri drags thick oil paint across the surface so each breaker carries ridges of actual texture, the way a real sea holds light inside its movement. Dark rock anchors the lower edge, wet and gleaming against the violence offshore.
