River Meanders

A slow river bends twice across the picture, its curves cutting through level green country. Trush Ivan Ivanovych painted the water as a single silver ribbon, calm and unhurried. The meanders themselves carry the composition. Mud banks warm to ochre where the current slows, willows crowd the inner bends, and the water holds a pale reflected sky. Fine brushwork follows each curve, grasses thinning into distance at the horizon.
