Rider in the Ring

A horse and rider turn inside the circus ring, the animal gathered mid-stride beneath its rider weight. Jacques Villon captures the motion in Rider in the Ring with clean, disciplined lines. The arena floor glows pale ochre, the tent walls sinking into muted violet shadow. Angular planes and fine crosshatching build the crowd into a near-abstract backdrop, while cobalt and slate accents flicker along flank and harness.
