White daisies crowd a glass vase, heads tilted every which way. Marie Duhem painted Reines Marguerites dans un Vase with that queenly name and then gave the flowers the loose, unbothered look of something picked that morning. The blooms carry cream petals edged in faint rose, their yellow centers worked in short jabs of ochre and lemon. Green stems cross behind the glass, blurred where the water line bends them. Cool gray sits behind everything, letting the whites hold the light. Made for a sunlit breakfast room or a small entryway that needs a quiet focal point.
