Red-Roofed House at Mimizan

A terracotta roof crowns a solitary house among the pines of Mimizan, painted by Winston Churchill during his visits to the Landes coast. The scene carries the ease of a hobbyist painter on holiday, yet the composition is confident and fully resolved.
