Pskov Churchyard

A whitewashed church rises above a scattered churchyard, its dome catching a cold northern sky. This view of Pskov in the manner of Nicholas Roerich centers on stone and faith made weather-hollowed. Grey-green grass covers burial mounds, and ancient stone crosses lean at odd angles, their faces worn smooth by centuries of rain and frost. The church walls glow faint ochre where low sun grazes them, and shadows pool deep beneath the apse. Suits a quiet study or hallway where old Russian landscapes and contemplative sacred imagery feel at home.
