Prodigal Son

A kneeling figure presses its full weight into the ground, head buried between locked arms, spine a single bent ridge. Prodigal Son shows Constantin Brâncuși at his most direct: the lost child, home at last. Oak holds every decision here. Chisel marks stay rough across the chest and back, never sanded away, and the grain runs diagonally through the torso like weathered planks. Shoulders, haunches and knees remain one compact mass; the block itself is barely released, humility cut straight from timber. Set in an entryway or hallway, it greets anyone crossing a threshold with the same hush the raw wood keeps: the moment of return, worn and forgiven.
