Poppies and Eucalyptus

Scarlet poppies burn against a screen of grey blue eucalyptus in Benjamin Brown's California flower study. The blossoms crowd the foreground, petals worked in loose strokes of vermilion and carmine that stay wet looking even now. Behind them the long sickle shaped eucalyptus leaves fall in cool sage and silver green, their branches leaning across the sky in loose, calligraphic arcs. Brown paints the way the light comes through both plants at once, warm reds drinking sun while the gum foliage throws blue shadow, the kind of contrast only a plein air painter standing in the field would commit to. A sunroom or bright kitchen gives these poppies the daylight they ask for.

A stretched canvas: the image is printed on a cotton-polyester weave (300–350 gsm) and wrapped over FSC-certified wood stretcher bars. A hanging kit is included, so no frame or extra hardware is needed.

Dust with a soft, dry cloth only — avoid water or cleaning products on the canvas face — and keep it out of direct sunlight and away from radiators.

As a guide, a piece hung above furniture should span roughly two-thirds of that furniture width. If you are between two sizes, the larger option almost always reads better on the wall than expected.

Every piece is made to order, then shipped free with tracking. US and Europe/UK orders typically arrive in 4–9 business days; Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore and the UAE in 7–16 business days. A tracking link is emailed as soon as it ships. Full details are on our shipping policy.

Orders within the US, UK and EU are domestic and do not incur customs fees. Orders to our extended network (Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, UAE) may be subject to import duties or VAT set by your local customs authority — these are not collected by us.

Because every piece is produced specifically for your order, we are unable to accept returns for a change of mind, wrong size selection, or buyer remorse once production has started.
