Sunlight rises over the Planty gardens in this Stanisław Wyspiański work, Planty o Swicie, catching dew on the trees along Kraków's famous green belt. Pastel light pools between trunks and hedges, rendered with the soft gouache touch Wyspiański brought to his landscape studies. Warm rose and pale gold washes sit over cool green undergrowth, the brushwork loose yet deliberate, each tree mass built from layered pigment rather than outline. Dawn here feels quiet and provisional, a city still waking behind its ring of chestnuts and lime trees. Suits a bedroom or reading nook where morning light already does some of the work.
