Planet Mercury passing in front of the Sun

A small dark planetoid crosses the blazing face of the sun, and Giacomo Balla paints the transit as pure radiance, solar yellow flooding outward in concentric rings around the crisp black silhouette of Mercury. The disc sits off center, slightly above the middle, letting the glow dominate. Fine radiating lines extend to the edges like compass spokes, and the field shifts from incandescent gold at the core to paler lemon tones where the rays thin out. Every stroke follows the light, so the whole surface seems to vibrate with orbital energy. It suits a study or a hallway with strong daylight, where the solar glow can carry the wall on its own.
