Pirostetős Ház

A red roof dominates the frame. Pirostetős Ház, Scheiber Hugó sets a single house against a compressed streetscape, its terracotta slope tilted forward so it seems to lean toward the viewer. Blocks of brick red, ochre and deep blue build the facade in flat, interlocking planes, the windows reduced to dark rectangles punched straight through the color. Outlines press thick and confident, the way Scheiber handled pigment across his Hungarian modernist scenes, every edge doing structural work rather than decorating. Hangs naturally in a stairway or a dining room, anywhere a compact, warm-hued composition can anchor a wall without shouting.
